Carol DiFalco, Ph.D., LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Assistant Professor of Psychology, and researcher specializing in critical consciousness development, community engagement, and mental health in emerging adulthood. With over two decades of experience in diverse mental health settings, she integrates clinical expertise with research to explore how individuals cultivate identity, belonging, and purpose in the face of anxiety and social inequalities.
Her work examines how educators and community leaders foster critical awareness of systemic oppression and promote equity-driven collective action. Currently, Dr. DiFalco is conducting a study on how emerging adults navigate anxiety while building meaningful community connections. She has contributed to scholarly publications on critical consciousness, engagement in education, and mental health interventions.
Dr. DiFalco’s forthcoming book, Grounded in Connection: Navigating Anxiety and Building Community in Emerging Adulthood (expected August 2026), explores the transformative role of relationships in mental well-being. Drawing from academic research, clinical experience, and mindfulness training, her work bridges psychology, education, and social justice to advance strategies for fostering resilient, inclusive communities.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. DiFalco enjoys open-water paddleboarding along the Cape Cod coastline, where she lives with her family.
